Rusty's Pancreatic Cancer Journey
Sharing Our Faith and Strength
This site is dedicated to chronicling the inspiring journey of my husband as he battles stage 4 pancreatic cancer. With a faith-based approach, we aim to share updates about his medical milestones and treatment progress, while also providing a platform for family and friends to stay informed. Here, you will find stories that highlight his character as a dedicated Lieutenant Paramedic who believes in the power of prayer and the support of community. We invite you to learn about our experiences, share your own stories, and join us in this journey of hope and resilience.

So many of you know Lieutenant Rusty Young of Central Douglas Fire & Rescue (formerly Winston-Dillard Fire District). Throughout his career, he has answered countless calls, helping so many of you, your families, friends, and neighbors. Many consider him a brother because the fire service creates a bond like no other.
Rusty was recently forced to medically retire as he continues the fight of his life against Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The last 10 months have been filled with difficult treatments, hospitalizations, and countless trips to Portland, yet through it all he has remained steadfast in his faith, never complaining and always giving God the glory.
If you would like to support Rusty and his family, please consider ordering a T-shirt. Every shirt purchased helps offset the expenses of travel, medical treatments, hospital stays, and everyday living costs during this journey.
More importantly, we ask that you wear your shirt proudly in his honor as he continues to praise God even when the battle becomes harder. His faith is unwavering because he knows God is walking beside him every step of the way.

With Love, • The Youngs
